Only doing the bare minimum the next couple of days as I battle extreme fatigue. First recruit wasn’t exciting. I just took an Alakazam on trial. I took wide guard off of aegislash and gave it Poltergeist instead for singles. I only played one battle to knock out a couple more missions. That also netted me my second recruit. I just played one single battle and their glimmora was super annoying and got down four layers of toxic spikes. Good thing I had aegislash. Unfortunately dragon claw got their Hydreigom to 2 percent. So no 3-0 win for me. I think that mission may just not happen anytime soon. Their last was mega Gengar. So that went badly. Down to meowscarada. That 98 percent damage lost me the game as I got out sped and sludge nombed. Yeah not my day at all. What a pitiful loss that was. My second recruit wasn’t good either. Just took a random ninetales, claimed a couple missions and was done for the day before I spiraled worse.

The next day I decided to step away from the game for a bit. I’m still logging in for my daily recruit, maybe playing a battle or two. But I think a couple straight weeks of intense notetakong, on top of some serious bouts of insomnia and chronic fatigue, has burned me out on the game for a bit. I simply don’t have the drive to play at a high level in this game right now, so I’m doing both myself and anyone reading this a disservice by just continuing to grind with no real progress.

When I come back to these notes, I plan to take a much more “casual” approach. I want to focus on theory crafting, not the ladder itself. I think with how the missions are structured, you don’t need to be a high level player to get some fun factor out of the game, just getting surprise wins with an unorthodox team seems so much more rewarding than playing twenty straight games with RNG ruining your day more often than not. I’ll return when I’m feeling better.

I did recruit a friend guard Vivillon (better support Pokemon than you might expect.) and I played a couple games with the rain team.  Mega starmie and archaludon won me the first. The second game was a bad matchup that I really just didn’t have the right tools to win. It led to a forfeit from me. That was it for that. When I win it’s cool but the losses are always deflating. And my second recruitment was blah. Probably just gonna log in and claim my free recruit the next couple days and give the ladder a break.
