On this 4/20, my goal is to just see how many missions I can knock out today. They didn’t reset until around 7pm last night around which time I no longer felt up to doing much of anything. The sudden return to winter yesterday in Vermont didn’t help my state of mind or my nerves. So, I’m going to be taking everything slow today. My notes, then, will be a bit sparser than usual.
Nothing to report on the Home acquisition side today. We’re still on the lookout for a Sneasler. So, the weekly missions: besides the usual winning 5 battles, hitting for super effective and extremely effective moves,, and such, we have using Normal type moves and sending water type pokemon into battle. I would think Protect counts as a normal type move, so that’s neat. I guess we’ll run out our Rain team today. Also, winning 3 battles without anyone fainting. That’s the trickiest one. For the membership, it’s easy: take part in 3, 6, and 10 ranked battles. Then recruiting 1, then 3, then 5 pokemon. We have 6 days to meet all these goals, and we’ll probably get most of them done today.
I’m thinking we go on a bit of a recruitment spree today. We get the free one, then the one from our daily goals. The weekly missions give us three extra recruits too.
Actually a pretty good lineup today that includes an Incineroar (with the Blaze ability) and a Talonflame. I already have a shiny Gale Wings Talonflame in reserve for when I need it. BUt the most interesting Pokemon here is Venusaur. Not crazy about how it’s trained, but we can use one for the Sun team I’ve been putting together. Welcome to the club, Venusaur. Easy use of a recruitment ticket there. (I still have 33 left, meaning I still haven’t used up the ones from achievements yet!) We also got a teammate ticket back from the membership.
I will say this… Mega Starmie in rain OHKO”s Mega Delphox with Aqua Jet. That’s fun. I shouldn’t have Aqua Jetted the Gengar because I just go down before Tailwind goes up. My bad. That was a misplay by me. And their Sneasler survived hurricane! This game was definitely not a good showing for me. I was able to preserve my Pellipper to set up Rain again though. And my tailwind stayed up long enough and I got the rain back just in time. With all my stamina boosts, Archaludon lived outrage no problem, and we won. But I played super sloppy. It did get me to Ultra ball rank 3 though.
Let’s go claim another recruit. Not the greatest lineup this time, although Ceruledge is really cool. We’ll take him and move on.
One more game of the Rain team and we get another recruit because of the 24 coupons we get from completing that goal. (FYI, I’m currently at 54 pokemon in the box, but a good chunk of those are visiting. I also have Hatterene and Glaceon on trial. I decided to keep the Hatterene for 2500 VP. The Glaceon I don’t think we’ll be using. I hate just letting them go like that, but the box spaces matter. This is further proof that you need the Starter Pack just for the 80 total spaces to start; we’d be at 90 without the membership FYI, and with the membership you have an extra 1000. While 1090 sounds excessive, I do expect a lot more Pokemon to get added into the game over the next few months. Also, I haven’t gotten around to doing my “challenge” runs with guys like Watchog and Castform, just to get further achievements.
The second game was fairy central built around Mega Floette. They also had shiny Alcremie and Dragonite. And a Galarian Slowking. Interesting team. And yeah, Helping Hand Alcremie double KO’d my Archaludon and Pelipper. We did get out tailwind though. Fortunately, I have Mega Starmie and Incin in reserve. Even without our tailwind, we were still in a decent position. They used Helping Hand on Floette for some bizarre reason and let it die… huh. OK, I’ll take that win.
We got 5 water types into those two games, so 24 quick coupons for us! And these extra 2 coupons per goal completed are really adding up. Unfortunately, still no Sneasler. I don’t have a Sableye yet, though. I’ll take that, and use the teammate ticket we’re about to get back from completing another membership mission.
I’ll do one more battle for this morning. We can now switch to our Trick Room Mega Floette team for this. Still haven’t gotten Hisuian Goodra into a game! And we finally do get to bring it!
They have competitive milotic and white herb sneasler. Hmm. This is part of why I have Hiusian Goodra, great switch in for Floette defensively. I actually double switch after icy wind. That Milotic is gonna hit hard after the intimidate. So I need to deal with that. Nasty scald does a number on my giraffe. My giraffe never gets to do a damn thing. This is bad. OMG I had no idea Close Combat would one shot my Goodra! DAMMIT. I did NOT play well. I was forced to bring Incin back in and boost their attack. And they had Charizard. I just forfeited. Bad game for me. I’m done for now… At least we accomplished a ton of goals, as that third battle got me a training ticket.
