I got a high level Furfrou through pokemon home, so we may see that eventually. While our battles went badly thanks to me being too lazy to team build, the recruitment  lately has been great. I also have decided to bring in my corviknight. Since I’m not squeezed for storage space I can be a lot more liberal in bringing in mons, but the good news is even if I didn’t, I have enough of my own visiting from home that staying below 40 would be easy enough.

Also Wolfe Glick got to number one in the world with mega Scovillain. What is happening? Anyway, I came back in the afternoon after the bad start to the day because I really didn’t have anything else to do after getting stuck in Mongil Star Dive.

I went back to singles for a bit. I still need a clean 3-0 win for my weekly missions, which expires tomorrow. (Or 4-0 in doubles, but this should be easier). And first game I realized I put the wrong mega stone on Charizard… It was supposed to be Y not X. And my Meowscarada went down, so no clean victory. And I wish I had Y, because I would’ve been good… The game went badly because of that mistake. Would choice scarf garchomp dragon claw be enough? Yes, because their Garchomp got confused from outrage and killed itself! YAY! WINNING!

I decided to bring in my Shiny Umbreon over Torkoal on my singles team, as that thing is a nutty lead and also great with Charizard Y. I just needed to get Moonlight over Wish. I’m also bringing Mega Dragonite over Kingambit, good as the latter mon is.

My second game I did miss a Heat Wave with Charizard Y, but fortunately they switched to Hippowdon and their sand got negated. Solar Beam did a CRAP ton to Froslass. I messed up and chose Solar Beam as they Mega evolved. I should’ve clicked heat wave. However… they set up Aurora Veil and I live Blizzard. IT SURVIVED AT 3 PERCENT! Umbreon tanks a blizzard. Fortunately they taunt and i was going foul play anyway. Their last mon is Lucario so I have Dragonite to deal with it. Bullet punch doesn’t do much with Multiscale, although they have a sash and survive fire blast. Thanks extreme speed! They forfeited and I got my 3-0 win! My misplay didn’t cost me.

Time for an extra recruit thanks to the 24 quick coupon bonus from that weekly goal. AND THERE IS ARCHALUDON! YES! Teammate ticket baby. I go for Electro Shot, Aura Sphere, Flash Cannon, and Protect, with a Timid nature and full Speed and Sp Atk investment. I just use 1150 VP to train it. This mon will replace Aerodactyl on my Rain team. It now has Focus Sash Pelipper, Choice Scarf Basc, Mega Starmie (who I haven’t used yet), Mega Meganium, Sitrus Incin, and Leftovers Archaludon.

I want to ride my momentum in singles battles, though. Third game I brought Aegislash, which has Wide Guard for doubles, so it only has three moves here. Great against Alcremie! Not bad against Meowstic either. But Charizard falls to their Gyarados. However, I got up Drought. Foul Play from Dreamtank (the Umbreon) absolutely wrecks. All they have left is Meowstic. Which has hyper beam? Interesting… we win.

Next game is an interesting team I’m up against. Their dragapult had u-turn against my Umbreon which isn’t very nice. However, they have Hisuian Typhlosion which takes a boat load from Foul Play. they have play rough on their typhlosion? That’s odd. The toxic damage isn’t quite enough to KO. But that’s fine, I have moonlight to recover. God, I love Umbreon. I switch into Dragonite to tank a Phantom Force and aegislash eats dragon darts. I just keep switching around. Phantom force does like nothing… but my toxic MISSES! Their U-turn crits! Ugh. I protect to see what their Mega Manectric decides to do. It decides to volt switch twice in a row, so dragapult eats a foul play. Bye bye! Umbreon lives Thunderbolt and gets toxic off. I haven’t even used my mega yet! Aegislash can tank the thunderbolt. It did get a paralysis but I have king’s shield to stall the toxic. Hurray for toxic stall! WIN! Up to Great ball rank 2! 5 wins in a row (I won a singles game yesterday, too, so four straight today).

The next game is a team I’ve never seen before. Very interesting mix. Hisuian Goodra is a heck of a tank, a mon i plan to use in the future. Sadly it’s half steel so I can’t toxic it. And my second play rough missed… Dammit Meowscarada… that was an easy KO… and the kitty got wrecked. I had to turn to Mega Dragonite far earlier than I’d like. So, big question is it Charizard X they have? I think so because they went for dragon dance and Draco absolutely obliterated it. Their last mon is… a forfeit. YAY WINNING! Rank 1 great ball now. OK, this team is good. But now I see how good Hisuian Goodra can be!

Next game I didn’t feel confident, but they did lead Machamp against Meowscarada. It didn’t KO though, even with Potrean. And they hit Dynamic Punch. I’m guessing it’s no guard. Somehow Meowscarada lives Bullet punch, but donks itself to confusion. BAD START. I do have E Speed on Dragonite here, and they switch. Tyrantiar comes in and breaks multiscale though. Can Mega Dragonite pull this out? Mega VS Mega slugfest. I GOT THE FREEZE WITH ICE BEAM! And it immediately… thawed? I forfeit. That was HORRIBLE luck. No way I could win that 1 v 3. I’ll just eat that very unfortunate loss and move on. I was gonna play til we lose, but that was such a terrible RNG fest that I just am throwing it out.

I didn’t even bring a mega to the next battle, leading Umbreon and bringing Aegislash and Meowscarada in the back. It also helps that I’m watching the first part of Wolfey’s Champions stream where he lost a bunch. It happens to the best. They have a lead Stealth Rock for garchomp, a good move usually. But they did not see what i brought. And spikes? An entry hazard Garchomp. Haven’t seen this in a long time! Azu forced me to switch into Aegislash and take some entry damage. Didn’t do a ton. They belly drum and Aegislash doesn’t live the aqua jet. Not a good look for me. I should’ve switched to Meow. But Meow didn’t live either… Wow… um this is horrible. I guess my singles run is over.  They swept me… What a horrible way to lose. I DROP to tier 2… YUCK!

I wonder if Azu is just better than Dragonite in Singles? I mean, I have my Belly Drum Azu still. Just haven’t used it in a long time. Well, next time in singles I’m running Azu. I’m gonna give the Rain team a shot now. I can’t do any worse than I did those last two games of singles.

Not sure I chose the right mons here, but we shall see… game one with the new Rain team. We go for Tailwind and Electro Shot. Indeed, their Mega is the Gengar they led alongside Sneasler. The latter fakes out Archaludon. They do a BOAT LOAD to the Steel Dragon with Shadow Ball. Sneasler protects and I’m ok with that. Electro Shot does 83 percent to Mega Gengar, and it KO’s in return. Fortunately, I have my Mega… Starmie! My starfish has aqua jet, huge power and rain. Not too shabby. I still have my fish in the back.  Dire Claw doesn’t give starmie a status and Hurricane brutalizes the Sneasler. Now it’s Kangaskhan and Hydreigon. I decide to double the Kangaskhan. This is probably right, as Starmie goes down to Fake Out and Dark Pulse anyway. Not a good position for me. Tailwind is gone. And my fish has the scarf. Sucker punch does so much to Basc… this is just not my game. We both tailwind, so yeah… I’m not winning this. I forfeit. Sucker punch is game over for me. Wow, three losses in a row. Do I pack it in for the day? No, I can’t go out like this… horrible run for me. One more loss, I will be done, but this team is better than this. I played badly.

And of course it’s a Mega Froslass team again… and they protect whims against my fake out. That was a horrible turn. Pelipper is brought to sash… yeah, I think this is my sign to be done, this loss would make me 5-6 overall today. They get up their own tailwind. They played so well. Can I come back from losing my Pelipper to Blizzard? AND INCIN IS FROZEN! WTF!? Good news is, I thaw thanks to Flare Blitz and kill their mega. Archaludon and Starmie in the back… not great. What can Mega Starmie do with Psycho Cut against a Primarina? IT KILLS IT! WOW! Whims Protected, but this is OK. Their last is Incin. I still think even at -1 Liquidation takes out Incin. They fake out though, and giga drain does a ton. This Whims is their MVP. It doesn’t even die to Flare Blitz! Our tailwind is gone, and they still have a turn left. What will Aqua Jet do? Stupid Whims protects AGAIN. Aqua Jet is nowhere near enough. Interestingly they go will-o-wisp. Is the burn enough? It isn’t! So Starmie will get another attack off. And they forfeit! I still have Arch after all, which has flash cannon and Aura Sphere so it can clean up. Good way to go out today I think.
