I agree with Chris Sewell. I think the emphasis on high end rookies isn’t nearly as important anymore. It’s just that it’s high end and super rare. Doesn’t matter the year, just the player, the “goat” trend people are seeing seems real.

I fell asleep for about half an hour watching Scott’s Thoughts latest Pokemon solo run, it was Exeggcute in crystal so it was a good video to sleep too. Hurray for unintentional ASMR.
Speaking of ASMR, Fern follows someone called Violet Daze who she occasionally reshares on her YouTube community page. While I don’t agree with everything she says, she did say something that got my attention that made me check out her channel further.
She makes use of what she calls “assumption based subliminals.” I have talked previously about how consciousness is layered on top of the unconscious and subconscious, with the latter being the deepest. It’s been proven that the sort of “hidden affirmations” this violet daze apparently offers will reprogram your life. [It’s hit or miss, but very interesting to read and ponder for a bit.]
The post she made today I didn’t entirely agree with but she did say this: “Reality is just infinite, fluid potential collapsing into a coherent story.” I don’t agree with the other stuff she says, how believing in yourself 100 percent will make the probability of the 3D world rearranging itself to match your beliefs 100 percent is just… delusional. Still, yes, subliminal reprogramming is a real thing. Something I’ve known about since I was a teenager. That one line though, that’s one worth considering.
However this is her post from yesterday:

Yes! This is correct! Although funny enough I married Emily to prove a point to my parents. That DID work. One of the few times my intuition proved correct.
…It sucks and it hurts but I have a feeling rejection is just something I have to live with. Because now I know it’s not me. I need to reach out daily. Because all I want at this point is people to connect with and chat with about their goals and dreams, what motivates them. I will make it worth their time. And Kate doesn’t realize this yet.

I especially agree with Jasmine Sun on her conclusion: “I really feel that if someone handed me a UBI check and 24 hours in a day, I would be doing exactly what I do right now. I really feel that it’s the best time in the world to be an independent writer, and I’m very glad to get to do it with all of you.”
Yup. Exactly. And I appreciate that’s what Bernie was trying to do with that absurd 50% tax on the AI companies. But that’s not how to do it, but the end goal he was envisioning was something I can see a lot of value in.

Good take on ranking baseball players all time. Some eye opening rankings here. But none I really disagree with based on his methodology. Except mookie betts. He has him too low. His defense is as good as DRS suggests from the eye test at least. I would’ve split the difference between fangraphs and baseball reference. None of the others were far off from where I’d expect but a few other surprises I should come back and talk about.

The fact we can now literally make any Avril Lavigne or Eminem song or Taylor Swift song… name any artist with a lot of songs… we want. It makes me physically ill. That’s why these firms are buying catalogs. To use AI to turn them into fucking infinite cash machines. I’m starting to think a lot of these “comebacks” by old artists are AI. They are all rehashes of their previous work all mixed together and the videos make no sense.
Haven’t you noticed basically all new releases seem to reuse old lyrics and melodies and just shift stuff around? Not all, but many of them. I just feel nothing with most of these newer songs.
[Fortunately, that was all about to change a week later with a little album called ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’]
