“I am alive in a life that would have seemed almost impossible to explain to certain earlier versions of myself, and some part of me had apparently decided that 5 AM was the correct time to contemplate the distance between then and now.” – Emily Slatin, “Measuring the Distance Between Then and Now

I have begun to do digital gardening correctly, as in making snapshots with my capture tools. And this is tricky to do with Windows machines that blow the contrast and color palette out in order to “protect copyright” which is, while well-intentioned, very counterproductive! I give full credit anyway, so I’m not stealing anything anyhow, so it’s a pain. Should I even bother with another Windows machine? I’m not sure that I should! But not Apple. So, is there going to be a better Chrome book then? Guess the RTX spark is out. And I won’t get another Apple because their devices have such high entropy. I’m going for the lowest entropy possible. Hmm. I must manifest a better solution!

I remember when I was little, my mom used to witness to dying women in nursing homes. There was one in particular who couldn’t speak anymore, except when she was reading the Bible. I was always impressed by this, especially as someone who learned to read with the Ryrie Study Bible that’s in my lap right now!

Before even opening the Our Daily Bread Ministries website for today’s devotional, I “randomly” turned to Genesis 20. My eyes lay on verse 7: “Now therefore, restore the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you will live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”

This is one of the best things I’ve read in a long time. Courtesy of Lou Fin

Great freaking song called “Wonderful Waters” :]

https://loufin.bandcamp.com/track/wonderful-waters

Today’s verse:

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Romans 12:6

The full reading is Romans 12:3-8 and it’s all important, honestly. Go read it in your favorite translation; mine is New American Standard.

And my translation of 12:6 reads like this:

“And since we have gifts that differ according to the Grace given to us, let each exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his[/her] faith.”

Also 12:9 is pretty sick: “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil’ cling to what is good.”

Listened to the latest episode of Lucid Labyrinths. So glad she’s doing less scripting. I can’t script for shit Also, I had no idea she lived ninety minute TRAIN RIDE from Vienna. Wow.

Seriously subscribe to Maria’s Patreon to listen to this girl: https://www.patreon.com/Strange_Lucidity/posts/lucid-labyrinths-163162061

My comment: “My heart is warmed by the outpouring of support you’ve had. Trust me, you deserve it. Your dedication to literature is truly inspiring to so many people, myself included. I believe this University Comparative Literature channel is going to do very well, and become an extension of the work you’ve been doing through Strange Lucidity. Also, don’t stress about speaking “proper” German. I don’t know German, but when you speak your mother tongue, I’ve never heard it spoken so beautifully. People just need to accept your voice and they better just learn to deal with it, because “proper” is arbitrary, and your German, I guarantee you, is perfectly fine. So glad you found your perfect filming location! I will be watching the channel, even if it’s in German, and I’ll just deal with the janky Auto-Translate :P”

If she doesn’t get back to doing YouTube, that’s OK, I’m fine just being on her Patreon. I’m gonna have one eventually, too.

Need to watch Emmelie’s video on these 10 great books:

This is incredible, it’s a song from “Moana” which is the last Disney movie that I actually really liked. And of course, it’s not just Boyce Avenue who I really like, it’s also this girl named Audra singing the lead.
