This is the kind of amazing human being that Audra Miller is. This is why she should be a superstar and not just singing in a cover band.
…
I’m making a new Instagram account for the podcast/newsletter. It’s time.

…
I’m going to see MY QUEEN ELLA LANGLEY in Gilford NH later this month with Emily! AND I GOT THE TICKETS FOR TWENTY FOUR HUNDRED UNITS OF AMERICAN CURRENCY THAT IS FIAT IN NATURE FROM THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK!
…
By the way this is what Audra REALLY sounds like IRL:
Also, the greatest rendition of the national anthem ever:

Audra is a Material Girl, apparently. And very passionate about that, too! XD

I have to very much DISAGREE with Anthony Fantano on MUSE. He is NOT a fan! But I respect his opinion. I will say, the idea that The Resistance was a bit of a Rorschach test actually makes some sense. And music IS political, Anthony! Matt Bellamy himself said that he hasn’t been happy with the past couple albums, either. Also remember, dude, Matt was in a terrible marriage and this record was his release. Anthony is BRUTAL in his rating, although he does have some fair criticisms. See, I DO watch things I disagree with, because I know he knows what he’s talking about. Personally, I think The WOW! Signal is Muse’s best album musically even if it’s a bit lacking lyrically. What Matt Bellamy needs is a lyricist partner. I have a few in mind…
I am finding amazing shit on Instagram. Like this cover of “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls by this gorgeous Southern belle.

This Taylor Acorn girl ROCKS! The song is called “hangman”
Been in my suggested videos for awhile, and Natalie McCool and “Coming of Age” is really solid.
…
Watching lots of Ella Langley interviews… This girl is SO COOL! She truly is THE QUEEN of Country! Saved the damn genre.

“No man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good. A silly idea is current that good people do not know what temptation means. This is an obvious lie. Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is. After all, you find out the strength of the German army by fighting against it, not by giving in. You find out the strength of a wind by trying to walk against it, not by lying down. A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later. That is why bad people, in one sense, know very little about badness. They have lived a sheltered life by always giving in.” – Mr. C.S. Lewis
Man was brilliant, even if people commandeered some of his weaker arguments for God and twisted them into the abomination called “apologetics” that ruined whatever was good about organized Christianity and bred Satanic evangelists. Sigh. I’ve regained my own faith in the Lord, but not faith in the Church itself. The trust is completely broken.

“…your eyes look like comin’ home…”
“So dust off your highest hopes
All I know is pourin’ rain
And everything has changed
All I know is a new found grace
All my days, I’ll know your face
All I know since yesterday
Is everything has changed.”
– Taylor Swift, Everything Has Changed

These two are so precious. I commented as much. Alanna and Brianne are on the cusp of being international superstars. And when the post about them comes out on Sunday I am pushing it SO HARD!

“A belief is like an impression stamped on our soul; the softer and less resisting the soul, the easier it is to print anything on it.” – Montaigne
I think my favorite videos by Emmelie of Prose and Petticoats are always ones that have to do with the more philosophical topics.
I love this quote in particular: “Learning must not only lodge with us; we must marry her.”
I’ve been lodging with learning for the most part for at least six years now!
And now I’m marrying learning about music!
…
I keep Reaching Out but nothing is coming yet. It’s a rough time for so many, and I’m being so impatient. I simply can’t give up, and the best thing I can do is keep doing my thing with focusing my attention on what fulfills me. I want to write so much more. But I’m sort of in a bit of a holding pattern, and it’s frustrating. Still, I am working towards building a flood of positive momentum if just one thing breaks right.

MOST BASED HUMAN BEING EVER! Billie Eilish!

Why does Livie make the most amazing shorts/tiktoks ever?
…
FINALLY got to watch the “Dead Man Walking” video by Against the Current! I love Chrissy Constanza!

I’m starting to grab little screenshots. JUST LIKE ANNA!

Amazing comment on Emmelie’s video. I often dine alone as well, although not by choice.
Did some Substack now Sublime. I love the redesign.

I’m thrashing journals for anything worthy of keeping. It’s that or start punching holes in the wall, and good luck getting the drywall fixed ‘round here.

Pulled this out of a framework file that was going to just be discarded otherwise, but I wanted to save this.
From a while back but worth me saving
Probably one of the very best ‘field notes’ episodes of The Rest is Science so far. I totally get why Michael switched from pen to pencil. He lost entire notebooks to an exploded Rockstar drink. I used to be a mechanical pencil Stan. But I see where he’s coming from. Michael is an absolute master note taker holy crap. And I totally agree writing things down is good because even bad ideas can inspire good ones. He even uses waterproof notebooks! Crazy how this whole episode was basically about pencils and it was actually fascinating. (I’m still sticking with cheap blue BIC pens, but I have my reasons)
Couple great viewer questions too in this episode, and honestly if we figure out how to access the fourth dimension, we will unlock a lot of crazy shit. The fourth dimension question sent me down a totally different rabbit hole…

Read these fucking lyrics and then tell me that fucking Jack Antonoff wrote any of this: https://genius.com/Taylor-swift-my-boy-only-breaks-his-favorite-toys-lyrics
No one tops Taylor Swift as a lyricist. Come at me. Y’all who disagree are entitled to your opinion, even if it’s incorrect.
…
This is still one of my all-time favorite Taylor Swift performances. Just a raw, vulnerable cover of “Can’t Stop Loving You” by Phil Collins. The MAN himself was blown away by it.
Take ultra good care of her, Travis. You don’t know what a responsibility Lord Jesus has given you!
This song is for Travis Kelce to take to heart:

I discovered someone amazing, another awesome poet named Whitney Hanson. Look at this girl! She is absolutely stunning!
Her book that is just coming out.: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/776366/the-love-of-my-life-by-whitney-hanson/
Oh, yeah, she makes music, too.
…
Whitney Hanson is such an insanely talented poet, it’s not even funny at all.
Can’t wait to get her new poetry book, “The Love of My Life” in the mail!
…
Whitney made me fucking bawl my eyes out.
Seriously, this is the next Leonard Cohen…
…
I needed a laugh, so Ari boo did the trick. I love this SNL sketch.
…
Salem Darling is freaking awesome. “EXPECTATIONS” GUITAR SOLO!? YAAS!

Could this be Connie Talbot’s best cover yet?

Another journal pull as I thrash and burn… 2025-11-08
“I woke up at 4am freezing and apparently Emily was having trouble sleeping too. She was thirsty and the milk fell out of the fridge somehow and scared the hell out of me. It got really dry last night but I didn’t bother to get a drink because I just wanted to go back to sleep. I didn’t have nightmares but my dreams were absolutely bizarre, and yeah, card game playing was involved… I’ve spent too much time lately in la-la land because of my crippling fatigue, fragile nerves, and even the time change hurt me more than ever this year by getting dark too early, I think my main problem is mental and emotional burnout because Emily is having the same sleep issues and she’s never like this. Just too much all at once this year. And her big plans now this weekend are to look at this…
“All these ideas I was developing were actually better than I thought… It helps that I now have some actual strategies for approaching writing, not just vibes. When you get old and decrepit like me, vibes only get you so far.”

Ayuli Gabay has quickly become one of my favorite people on Substack, with her saying things like this:
“Artists tend to be self-absorbed. I am not saying this as a criticism; it can be an important creative and performance energy. However, when it comes to reaching out to music industry peeps, the best thing you can do is to step into the shoes of the person you are addressing. Ask yourself, what do they need? Then, give it to them in the easiest, most convenient, and most precise way…”
It’s not just true in the music industry, of course. This is advice for myself as a writer, too. I still have so much to learn. Recall that even PATTI SMITH has said she’s still learning so much every day about writing… PATTI SMITH!

Today’s daily bread is Ezekiel 34:15
“I myself will tend my sheep.”
Well, BAHH!
For real, though, Ezekiel 34:1-2, 11-16
“Then the word of the Lord came to me saying,
‘Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to those shepherds, Thus says the Lord God, Woe, shepherd of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock?”
OMG ANTI CAPITALIST WOKENESS! Lol preach Ezekiel my man.
This reading is WAY TOO RELEVANT! Ezekiel is based.
Jesus, you legend: verse 16 “I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken, and strengthen the sick, but the fat and strong I will destroy I will feed them with judgment.” HELL YEAH!
https://www.odbm.org/en/devotionals/devotional-category/a-shepherds-heart?ts=1783123200000
“Revelation 7:17 beautifully pictures Him as both a lamb and a shepherd: “The Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ” Today, Jesus, as our Great Shepherd, offers us salvation and living water that will last.”
See this is interesting because that’s a really cool dichotomy, lamb and shepherd at once.

Today’s daily loaf of unleavened bread… 1 John 3:18 “Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.”
More moleskine quotes
“I can measure how sad i am / by how afraid i am of the dark” – haunted, Savannah Brown.
“Sometimes i am the one haunting the house” – same
“Skin doesn’t die / it grows and moves and moulds, / and everyday it lays a little differently”
“Heartache and pain pave distinct terrains on a chest / in the same way tears erode laugh lines, / branching like canyons, or lighting.” A poem just for me, Savie
“Sometimes there’s everything all at once and I can’t help it / and sometimes i go from nothing to everything / over the course of a couple dreams and battered sheets / damp and heavy with memories / and i can’t help that either” – same
“I still have a small ribcage for inelastic lungs / and in times of lulling stability / i still find myself sleepy at noon / because i can only think in technicolor / with my eyes closed” – same (I’m the same way)
“But then i think about seconds / and the sound a year makes when it crumbles down around you / and the way old flavors will taste to an even older tongue / and suddenly i want nothing more than / to exist in this dull for eternity.” – same, this is the best poem of all time!
“It reminded me of a breath from someone / i hadn’t met yet / even the scent of it felt foreign but also like / i was born in it” – Dew-grass, Savie

Anna posted her Substack exclusive video from January as this week’s episode of Wild Geese. As I expected she needed a true break. Good job, love, for taking care of yourself. Also, this is one of the best episodes Anna has ever made!
A couple things Anna put on screen during this episode:
From louisgluckpdf (Tumblr): “they won’t tell you this in therapy but sometimes the best way to stop catastrophizing/anxiety is to interrupt your spiraling with ‘girl what the hell are you talking about’”
From wholeheartedsuggestions (Tumblr): “forgive the version of you that didn’t know any better. Forgive the version of yourself that knew better but did it anyway. Forgive every version of yourself. We are constantly learning from our mistakes.”
From papayajuan2019 (Tumblr): “hey guys can you develop more complex nuanced loving views of yourselves. Thanks.”

Something I meant to save but didn’t was a YouTube comment on a view on Prose and Petticoats’ channel (Emmelie Arents)

I have begun to do digital gardening correctly, as in making snapshots with my capture tools. And this is tricky to do with Windows machines that blow the contrast and color palette out in order to “protect copyright” which is, while well-intentioned, very counterproductive! I give full credit anyway, so I’m not stealing anything anyhow, so it’s a pain. Should I even bother with another Windows machine? I’m not sure that I should! But not Apple. So, is there going to be a better Chrome book then? Guess the RTX spark is out. And I won’t get another Apple because their devices have such high entropy. I’m going for the lowest entropy possible. Hmm. I must manifest a better solution!

I remember when I was little, my mom used to witness to dying women in nursing homes. There was one in particular who couldn’t speak anymore, except when she was reading the Bible. Today’s verse:
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Romans 12:6
The full reading is Romans 12:3-8 and it’s all important, honestly. Go read it in your favorite translation; mine is New American Standard.
And my translation of 12:6 reads like this:
“And since we have gifts that differ according to the Grace given to us, let each exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his[/her] faith.”
Also 12:9 is pretty sick: “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil’ cling to what is good.”

My comment: “My heart is warmed by the outpouring of support you’ve had. Trust me, you deserve it. Your dedication to literature is truly inspiring to so many people, myself included. I believe this University Comparative Literature channel is going to do very well, and become an extension of the work you’ve been doing through Strange Lucidity. Also, don’t stress about speaking “proper” German. I don’t know German, but when you speak your mother tongue, I’ve never heard it spoken so beautifully. People just need to accept your voice and they better just learn to deal with it, because “proper” is arbitrary, and your German, I guarantee you, is perfectly fine. So glad you found your perfect filming location! I will be watching the channel, even if it’s in German, and I’ll just deal with the janky Auto-Translate :P”
If she doesn’t get back to doing YouTube, that’s OK, I’m fine just being on her Patreon. I’m gonna have one eventually, too.

This is incredible, it’s a song from “Moana” which is the last Disney movie that I actually really liked. And of course, it’s not just Boyce Avenue who I really like, it’s also this girl named Audra singing the lead.
OMG so glad Faith captured this free show that First to Eleven did in Erie, PA. Audra ABSOLUTELY SLAYED! She’s always been a great singer, obviously, but I just couldn’t believe this performance. It’s posted on Aunim’s F211 Bonkers channel.

Bible Study with Loisa: When Anxiety & Loneliness Hit… the ASMR is top-notch too. She is only the world’s greatest ASMRtist after all <3
John 14:27 (NAS): “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”
Mark 4:35-41 (NAS) https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%204&version=NASB #readthebible
Matthew 6:25-27 (NAS): “For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing?”
“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?”
“And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life’s span?”
Matthew 6:34 (NAS): “Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
“To despair is to turn your back on God.” That’s from the film Anne of Green Gables, actually.
This girl is a preacher, for real.

Back to Bible study after that brief equipment interruption…
Anxiety is God’s business, your future is God’s business. Your responsibility is to live your life, and do all you can. Don’t waste your energy on tomorrow; that’s why you get so drained. That’s why worrying about future appointments is so counterproductive.
John 16:33 (NAS version) “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” Damn straight!
Luke 12:25-26 (NAS): “And which of you by worrying can add a day to his life’s span?”
“Therefore if you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about the other things?”
Proverbs 8:10-12 (NAS): “Accept my instruction and not silver,
And knowledge rather than choice gold.”
11 “For wisdom is better than jewels;
And all desirable things cannot compare with her.”
12 “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And I find knowledge and discretion.”

These two tracks really amp me up for the end of the “work week” even though I don’t run on that sort of schedule at all. I do it out of sympathy for all those who are forced to work jobs they hate and drain them, and after all, I gotta meet people where they’re at… something i’ve long struggled with and am actively working on with my fullest intention. Devotion for today:
2 Timothy 2:1-13 – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Timothy%202%3A1-13&version=NASB’
This section to me truly stands out, as St. Paul writes to Timothy before Paul’s own execution by the Romans:
3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him.
5 And if someone likewise competes as an athlete, he is not [c]crowned as victor unless he competes according to the rules.
6 The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.
7 Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

ODB reading today: Genesis 50:22-26
This passage is the very end of Genesis. In particular 50:25. “Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, “God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones up from here.” My footnote in my old Ryrie says: “Joseph believed that eventually his descendants would move back to Canaan and he wanted them to take his body with them, which they did.”
Basically, as the reading for today says, even if people disown us for our faith, we should not despair. We must trustingly act on God’s promises.
A couple other verses to look at: Hebrews 11:22 and Romans 8:28
Interestingly there was a random slip of paper in 1 John chapter 2. And my eyes went right to the first verses on the page, 1 John 2:4-6. And I think I know why I stuck this piece of paper in there at some point.
4 “The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 “but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.” [I love this idea of truly perfected love]
6 “the one who says he absides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
Basically, calling out hypocrites and posers. Just like I love to do! John was all over this in the year 90 Anno Domini
While flipping to the Romans verse I mentioned, my eyes fell on 8:18 – “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” No kidding! Great reminder that these hardships are temporary as long as we believe in Him!
Oh look I underlined Romans 8:28 as a kid. Smart me. “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Notably not the WORLD’s purpose, corrupted by Mr. Satan.
It took me five-ever to find Hebrews lol. My Bible book order knowledge is rusty, sorry God.
Hebrews 11:22
“By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the exodus of the sons of Israel, and gave orders concerning his bones.” Direct call back to that passage in Genesis, a nice little way to close the circle here.
I pray, Lord Jesus, help me take all these words to heart. I know what You are telling me at least in a way that makes sense, but I feel there is something deeper to this particular devotion today as it is Your Day today. Thank you for giving me some joy and restfulness in my insomnia through Your guidance through the Word that, while corrupted in many ways, still serves Your purposes. Amen.

Today’s verse is LITERALLY John 3:16
I think EVERYONE knows that one. But I’m transcribing through verse 21 because it’s not often quoted in context. Which as we all know, Context is For Queens, so let’s get the whole story.
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”
17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.”
18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
19 “And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil.”
20 “For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”
21 “But he who practices the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”

The documentarian nature of my writing of the past few years, an intentional practice I started in order to reorganize my entire process around the mundane facts of my second, perhaps third, chance at life, has begun to bear fruit. I still don’t see the big picture but I was nudged yet again by the universe.
[I need] to continue pursuing new vibrations. Ones that aren’t AI generated. I continue to iterate. Reorganize and reevaluate. Finally I’ve stopped spinning my wheels. I am making progress. Not sure towards what. But there is finally momentum once again, the inertia is lifting. The pace has slowed. But quietly and steadily the economy of my thoughts is finally finding a way forward, even if the market has not quite yet emerged. I have a lot of unpopular things to say and the real challenge is in figuring out how to say them…without causing unnecessary friction, and yet some friction is necessary. Another paradox, one of countless problems I’ve been trying to resolve by invoking the square root of infinity.
The probabilistic nature of everything means that I’m never going to find the perfect equation to define anything, but hopefully, I’ll come close enough to make people remember we’re all spinning round really fast on this little celestial rock, altogether. And if we stop suddenly, a lot of things are gonna go flying and a big mess will result. A vast understatement actually. People will learn physics the hard way. By being turned into a sort of paste… but I’m getting ahead of myself. The world isn’t going to just throw the brakes on… the inevitable entropy of all these broken systems will suffice to be the wake up call for the next generation of leaders who are only now coming into their own realization that if no one else is going to offer their fecal matter to the general welfare, then they better start bagging and selling their own.
I must give myself some quiet time to ponder, something I do while pacing and I need to get back to capturing these racing thoughts by voice, even if they are a murderous proposition to properly edit.
I’ve always said that you are only as good as the people you keep around you. You can have all the talent in the world and throw it away by being complacent. Then you can have someone who’s very talented become a superstar on the strength of her personality, drawing in legendary figures to play alongside her. And she soaks it all in with an aura like none I’ve ever seen…

You gotta set the bar high… the correct mindset is instead to build yourself up to be someone who is worthy of someone like that’s time and energy. I thought I’d done that but the timing has just never been right. Now I can move past all the failures of connection and give myself a break. And build myself up to being ready when the time is right, no matter who comes calling. That isn’t a wrong number.
Dizzy kitten playing pal world is something I can vibe with!
I love how she does her hair now. Someone just told her she has amazing features in real life! She does indeed. Also so glad she doesn’t mask her Arkansas accent anymore. Unfortunately the newer version of pal world is obnoxious in base building. Fun to watch but I would break things if I tried to play it.
I haven’t even gotten to learn the Omnichord yet! Seriously! My lack of sleep means I have compromise and prioritize my writing and organizing for my collected works.

Today’s devotion on ODB…
Great one: Ephesians 5:15-20
This is straight off the website.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Amen!
Not a bad little roadmap, huh?
I love this from the devotional section: “Genuine gratitude is more than an occasional word we offer; it’s the posture of our lives. Gratitude turns us to God over and over again, always giving thanks in celebration.”
…

July 16, 2026
The entropy of this universe is beginning to fluctuate wildly. It’s a major reason why I can’t sleep. I only got three hours before tummy issues required a long sit on the porcelain throne. And in my head I heard my mom singing this is the day that the Lord has made. While I’ll certainly rejoice, I’m not sure I’ll be all that glad in it as I crash my car into an oncoming vehicle going 75 mph because I drifted off to sleep! I may have to make multiple stops for caffeine infusion and blood recirculation. I need to get to Stamford safe and sound. I know God is with me, obviously as He is with Emily, as is the Holy Ghost. But there is still being stupid and simply making reckless choices. Unfortunately, the Lord only covers stupidity so far.
Since I’m up I may as well serve the Lord. My Bible is still in the house and not in the Big Bend because I left some books accidentally on my shelf because I was tired and extremely distracted…
…
1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 18, 21-27 is today’s reading.
1 Corinthians 12:12 “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.”
13 “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of the Spirit.”
14 “For the body is not one member, but many.”
The importance of fellowship is clear here. Which is why I”m going to Buffalo. I have ZERO fellowship here and the Stamford flock belongs to Emily. And she doesn’t realize yet that it’s GOD calling her there. But she has the right idea. And Vermont is also her job. Not mine. They probably are a lost cause here too, but for the few who DO listen to her, it’s worth it. But not to me.
Verse 18 “But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.”
Jesus has put all of us into spots that He expects us to serve Him.
Verses 21-27 are speaking directly to me right now.
21 “And the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you’ or again the head to the feet, ‘ I have no need of you.’”
22 “On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;”
23 “and those members of the body, which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our unseemly members come to have more abundant seemliness,”
24 “whereas our seemly members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more redundant honor to that member which lacked,”
25 “that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.”
26 “And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it,”
27 “Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.”

Emily’s post has a lot to consider.
https://www.rescuegirl557.com/There-Is-Something-Special-In-Permanance.php
“Human beings possess an extraordinary talent for inventing boundaries and then mistaking those boundaries for features of reality itself. We divide knowledge into disciplines, nature into species, politics into parties, and personalities into types. These divisions are often useful. They are almost never fundamental. Nature seems remarkably indifferent to the filing systems we impose upon it.”
“Entire societies have believed extraordinary nonsense simply because enough people inherited the same unquestioned starting point. Progress rarely begins by discovering a new fact. It usually begins by asking why an old one was accepted so uncritically.”

Today’s ODB is Mr. Daniel!
Daniel 6:16-23
These are the words to most carefully consider for intentional bibliomancy… the reflect and pray section.
“How can you find safety and security in God? How can you look to Him for help and strength today?”
“Freeing God, thank You for canceling my debt of sin through the death of Your Son, Jesus. I look to You for my salvation.”

It’s Maggie Rogers! We’re all so blessed to have her with us on Substack!
This is probably one of the best things I’ve read about artistry in a LONG time. Doesn’t shock me that it’s from Maggie Rogers.
“There is no such thing as being a new artist or an old artist. An artist is simply something that you are. It is a desire and a willingness to seek and create and connect. I feel like a new artist every single day. How to make art that’s true to you…How to find your sound…these are questions that I’m constantly writing and re-writing for myself. It is not about the arrival, but about the transformation required to find the answer over and over again. Finding joy, rather than frustration, in that process is the real work. Or the work I’ve got my eye pinned to the most these days, anyway. We’re all in this soup together, doing our best to make meaning out of it, finding pleasure in the tying of knots and untying again.”
…
Our Daily Bread!
2 Corinthians 1:1-7
This is, as usual, very relevant to my current situation.
Reflection: How has God comforted you in a time of loss or distress? How can you pass that comfort on to someone else today?
Prayer: God of comfort, through each trial I face, please help me pass on Your comfort to others.
That;s a great one, especially right now where we’re all suffering. Just as they were in the first century AD, CE, whatever.

My response to this: https://glasshousemagazine.substack.com/p/where-are-all-the-black-pop-stars/
“For real! As a pasty white person, it’s still frustrating for me to watch amazing black artists have their work appropriated. Although I wouldn’t call Ariana Grande white… she really isn’t and only appeared white to prepare for her role as Glinda in Wicked (which wasn’t a role I saw her being fit for in the first place, but that’s an entire essay of its own). Bey, Ri-RI, and so many other black pop stars have been forced out of the spotlight in recent years, and it makes me extremely upset, too!”

I’m doing these as monthly compilations going forward. The daily posts were simply becoming a chore to manage. This just simplifies things.
Devotion time!
Amos 7:1-9
“Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people.” Amos 7:8
Right from the devotional because I can’t really write it better myself:
https://www.odbm.org/en/devotionals/devotional-category/walking-like-jesus?ts=1784592000000
“In Amos 7, God reminded the Israelites that His standards were impartial and absolute and applied to all, including His favored nation. His laws and moral standards were like “a plumb line” (v. 8)—a weighted line used by builders to ensure structural integrity by showing if a wall wasn’t being built perfectly vertical.
While He may extend mercy, God can’t compromise His justice—which is why He sent His Son Jesus to die in our place as payment for our sin. The Bible shows us whether we’re walking in His way or not. By His grace, God helps those who believe in Jesus to live in a way that pleases Him and brings honor to Him—to do what’s right.”
So, what areas of my life can I improve upon to live closer to God’s perfect standards? Well, I can stop getting distracted by losing stuff that is easily replaceable.

Ephesians 2:1-10 ODB
Again, how relevant can it be? This is why my New Vibrations ministry will be having intentional bibliomancy sessions where people bring in their “own bibles” like Emerson suggested. Words that they hear God speaking through, not JUST the Bible! Other religious sources that are divinely inspired, and even lyrics, poetry, and books are all equally valid methods through which the Holy Spirit witnesses to us.
Speaking of which I need to put the “My Own Bible” up on TPD AND Obscure Curiosities.
OK reading about being saved by His Grace <3

Great post from a GORGEOUS woman:
https://courtneyalicen.substack.com/p/im-done-introducing-myself-with-stories
I commented: “I love what you say here, Courtney. I feel like every day recently I’m shedding a skin every night and emerging a slightly better version of myself, because I finally realized that I AM ENOUGH. People have told me this before, but when you come to the realization deep down and actually act on it, realize who you are meant to be that society, bullies, and sometimes even well-intentioned fools keep you from being, that’s when you enter your Butterfly Season and start becoming who you were truly meant to be <3”
Another one I needed to comment on:
https://courtneyalicen.substack.com/p/protecting-my-belief-in-love
What I said: “I think the real problem is that love has become commodified. Just like so many other sacred things in our lives. And yes, part of it is that we just don’t want to get hurt again, and this is an animal reaction to an imperfect world corrupted by sin. Love is everything. I see people all the time say how cliche that is, that REAL ACTIVISM starts with agendas and whatnot. But the greatest Advocacy, the greatest Activism is learning to love again, better, stronger, and more openly. Unconditional, unequivocal, love, love love <3”

Today i listened to the new Carter Faith album and discovered rewarded play gives Walmart cards so that’s very helpful! I will use those for sure! (The first one cleared fine.)

Hebrews 6:17-20
As usual got distracted. Needed to fix my bay state login. Extremely important! Might as well fix ford while I’m at it. Okay reading time.
Short reading today. It’s not really vibing with me. I’m froggy although not foggy and sore. My body is just not in whack right now. But I do like the idea of hope as an anchor of the soul.
I like this from the devotion. “Some may anchor in unreliable things—their own ambition, unhealthy friends, or negative habits. How much better to anchor in the one whom we know we can trust and depend on. When the waves crash around us, we’ll be held fast. Our soul is anchored in God.”
That’s what I needed to hear this morning. And so much in this world that people think they need to depend on is patently unreliable!

2 Samuel 18:12-18
My bible is out of reach so I’m reading on the website today. Sorry Lord, I’m just really exhausted.
Today’s devotion is about serving God, not self. This makes me think about how I’ve been so concerned with my own legacy. Who cares? No one! Ironically, everyone still remembers the selfish and prideful Absalom who had no son to carry on his name. Just for the wrong reason.
From the devotion: “Building monuments to ourselves and serving our own pride and desires won’t end well. But as we humbly serve God and love Him well (Philippians 2:3-8), we’ll find true meaning and fulfillment in His presence.”

And it’s Sunday! The day of Mr Jesus.
“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” John 4:14
The reading skips all over John chapter 4 so I’m just gonna read the whole thing through verse 26 in my Ryrie which I have next to me this time so I don’t have to be lazy and read it on the phone… and it’s relevant because I’ve been super dehydrated for, like, years.
I haven’t read this section about the Samaritan woman in a VERY LONG time. Basically, the Jews lost the plot and He’s here to set everyone straight! GO JESUS!
From the devotion: “As we encounter people who are spiritually thirsty, Jesus’ example reminds me to speak with humility and kindness, praying for God to remove the shadow that “has blinded the minds of unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 4:4) so they can fully understand Christ’s life-changing offer of living water.”

I finally had to leave sweet xoKatie a comment, especially after her call for feedback.
Katie, I discovered you last year when I was searching for hair play ASMR videos, my favorite trigger ever. It was actually a video with Sophia. But my favorite videos of yours, besides the ones with Eden who is such a darling, and your sister who is so lovely, are your solo chatty ones. I’d love to hear more about your journey in becoming an ASMRtist. You are an exceptionally sweet, beautiful, and compassionate soul. I even discovered Julie and Fern because of you (and your sister Emily of course) and you four are my main rotation of ASMRtists, all made possible because of you! You have been a major calming influence for me during one of the worst times of my life. Thank you for all that you do and for existing as such an absolutely drop dead gorgeous woman <3
And she responded! 😀 What an angel, truly the most calming and relaxing of all of them. Even Fern you can tell is doing ASMR as much for herself as the model. Jules is just more frenetic with her movements; she has a lot of nervous energy.
I adore her.

I said: Rebekah, as someone who was KICKED OUT OF THE CHURCH for being nonbinary and queer, I would say you are MORE Christian than most church-going Christians. The Bible was never meant to be taken literally. God speaks to us through everything, not just the Bible. Yes, the BIble is a very useful book and I still turn to it daily for devotion. But you’re right, what Jesus teaches and what “Christians” do often doesn’t line up at all. It’s why I’m going to be creating my own ministry, to allow fellowship for all those Christians who were left behind by dogma and wayward religious zealots. 🙂 Through music, of course!
