I made an interesting discovery: I do have a Sinistcha on Violet. So, now I just need to fix it and there’s my first Trick Room setter. That just leaves Pelipper and Sneasler to spin the recruit ranch wheel for now. And I also have an Armor Tail Farigiraf. Again needs to be trained better, but still. There’s our two Trick Room setters. How about that? Although honestly I prefer the Bulky Special Attacker set that I can easily build right on Violet. We can always slap Trick Room over Protect later if we want. Farigiraf I was able to build its whole move set with ingame TMs!

While I’m at it, I have a Kingambit too, that I was able to mostly fix in Violet. Wow, how did I forget I had this? So, I’ve now sent 13 pokemon to the game at the moment, with a few others while mints appear not to work when they go to home, they most certainly show up in Champions. So that’s nice! As do ability patches (which do show up in home, which is odd.)

I do have to fix the stats. I’m going HP and Sp. Atk on Farigarif with a moveset of Dazzling Gleam, Hyper Voice, Trick Room, and Psychic. It’s a Sassy nature, too, making it even better in Trick Room. Only 330 VP.

Kingambit is adamant with full HP and attack investment. That was easy. The set I saw runs Sucker Punch instead of Swords Dance (which I couldn’t get in Violet easily) and Defiant over Supreme Overlord. But I think the latter ability can be better. Just 330 VP again.

Sinistcha just needed stats in HP and special attack with its Modest nature. I’m gonna throw Trick Room on it now over Protect. I can easily switch this later. 580 VP for that.

I also want to rethink my Dragapult set. But I won’t need it right away.

I want to apologize for how foggy I’ve been this first week of the game’s release. It actually came out at a great time when I was so sick I couldn’t really do much anyway. These notes have kept me writing when otherwise I would’ve written absolutely nothing. So, thank you Champions for being such an interesting game to write about.

More games this afternoon… but we can build a pretty close to Meta team now. I spent 2700 VP on a Tyranitarite and Black Glasses (which are for Kingambit.) I spent another 1K on Mental Herb. Back down to 30k, but if I’m right, this team will get us to Master Ball and beyond.

The META TEAM IS HERE:

Incineroar, adamant nature: 32 HP 32 ATK 2 SPD. Fake Out, Parting Shot, Flare Blitz, and Darkest Lariat (Ability: intimidate) Item: sitrus

Farigarif, sassy nature, 32 HP 32 SP ATK, 2 SP DEF. Dazzling Gleam, Hyper Voice, Trick Room, and Psychic. (Ability: armor tail) item: mental herb

Sinistcha, Modest nature, 32 HP, 32 SP ATK, 2 SPD. Matcha Gotcha, Rage Powder, Trick Room, and Shadow Ball.0 (Ability: hospitality) item: leftovers

Floette, Modest nature, 32 HP, 32 SP ATK, 2 SPD. Dazzling Gleam, Calm Mind, Moonblast, Protect (flower veil/flower aura) item: Floetteite

Kingambit, Adamant Nature, 32 HP 32 ATK, 2 DEF. Iron Head, Kowtow Cleave, Swords Dance, Protect. Ability: supreme overlord (I may change this to defiant but we shall see) item: black glasses

Tyranitar, Adamant Nature, 32 HP, 32 ATK, 2 SPD. Protect, crunch, low kick, rock slide. Ability: sand stream. Item: Tyranitarite

Probably not the final form of the team, but it’s what I’m going with when I get back on the ladder. We’ll also be building a separate team for singles, which is basically 2 top singles trios mashed together. I just went on the singles tier list and chose Focus Sash Meowscarada, Choice Scarf Garchomp, Sitrus Wash Rotom (that mon is amazing), Mega Dragonite, Bright Powder Basculegion (that should be interesting), and Lum Berry Dragapult. I still like that Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave, Hex, and Draco Meteor build for now. Time for a break…

Also, I found out Mega Delphox just won a Champions tournament. It was paired with Choice Scarf Adaptability Basculegion! So here are the sets from Aaron Zheng’s video:

Clefable, sitrus, unaware ability, tera type fairy. Follow Me,  Moonblast, Helping Hand, Protect

Sneasler, focus sash, unburden ability, tera type fighting (this doesn’t matter yet but I will mention it still) Dire Claw, Close Combat, Fake Out, Protect – pretty standard sneasler.

Kingambit, black glasses, defiant ability, tera type dark. Swords Dance, Sucker Punch, Kowtow Cleave, Protect – interesting there’s no fighting type move

Delphox, delphoxite, blaze/levitate ability, tera type fire. Heat Wave, Substitute, Psychic, Protect. (this should be my delphox set then)

Dragonite, lum berry, multiscale, tera type dragon. Scale Shot, Extreme Speed, Haze, protect – a much more support focused dragon here

Basculegion, choice scarf, adaptability, tera type water. Wave Crash, Flip Turn, Last Respects, Aqua Jet – basically mine just with choice scarf.

Literally I just need the Sneasler and Clefable (the latter is much easier to get). I also would need a second Dragonite to train for that purpose, something I could actually do as I have my one from ZA. Then again, I think I’d just run my Mega Dragonite instead here. Great looking team.

Afternoon battles with the Meta team for doubles! I did change the Kingambit to Defiant and replaced Swords Dance with Sucker Punch for now, after seeing it do extremely well on that Mega Delphox team. 750 VP I’ll have to earn back.

First battle is up against Sneasler, Hisiuan Typhlosion, Kangbamit, Sableye, Alolan Raichu, and Talonflame. Hmm.

I bring Incin and Farigarif, with Floette and Kingambit in the back. I fake out their Kingambit as their talonflame goes for taunt. I didn’t see that coming, but i do have mental herb and set up the room of tricks. I switch Farigarif out to my own Kingambit. Talonflame doesn’t do much to Incin and my cat flare blitzes the crap out of their Kinggambit as mine eats a kowtow cleave. I lariat the talonflame as they bring in Sableye, so I switch in floette. The burn on floette kind of sucks but that’s OK since we’re a special attacker. We get Talonflame down to 11 percent and incin gets taunted. We lariat talonflame again nd go for mega floette moonblast on the sableye. The sableye uses quash to delay my move, but that’s no good because i’m the trick room user baby! BYE BYE SABLEYE! All they have left is Hisuian typhlosion which falls ot darkest lariat. Hurray for trick room hyper offense! I still had two mons in the back. 4-0 BABY!

Next battle I bring Incin and Floette with Sinistcha and Mega T-Tar in the back. Their team is pretty slow to begin with so Trick Room isn’t that good for me here. They lead Hat and Golurk. The latter could be the mega. I mega floette and go for calm mind and fake out on hat. I was correct it is Mega Golurk. That golurk does have gyro ball. Let’s target down the golurk with lariat and dazzling gleam. The golurk does protect, but gleam brings the hat down to 1 percent! Hat does set up trick room. I double switch here, since they are gonna move first anyway, setting up sandstream with T-Tar and Sinistcha comes in. Hat protects anyway. EQ is gonna hurt. But I more than survive. Hat’s gone with sand. They bring in their Incin. I double switch back to reset intimidate both for me and onto them. I live EQ and both Incin’s use Sitrus. I go on the offense as Floette easily lives gyro ball and Golurk takes a ton. We’re all at low health here, but Floette takes down their Incin. Their last pokemon is Torkoal. With sand gone I protect Floette. I try to finish Golurk, but eruption still goes first. Incin was a worthy sac here. I stalled out trick room! Sinistcha comes in for much needed healing. I go for Rage Powder and Dazzling Gleam. Golurk protects and we only do a little bit to Torkoal. That’s a double KO. This is not a good 1 V 2. I have to go Rock Slide with T -TAR.  It doesn’t kill either mon.  I got a flinch on Torkoal! So long as I don’t miss a rock slide…  Golurk protects, that’s OK. It hits Torkoal! YES! Crunch finishes the Golurk for game. WOW, that was close. I’ll take it.

My heart is pounding. I’m gonna take a break. But wow this team is GOOD!
