I love Rowan Coleman’s idea that Trek needs to move away from the military conventions and I agree. It is a bit too much conformity for me too. Like it made sense in ds9 but in voyager it was so forced… and the new starlet academy show went way over board.

Uh oh a three hour Rays rebuild? It’s so funny because Graceful Swan tried doing one and went two hours and GAVE UP! But we know big irrelevant won’t stop til he wins. Typically, the Rays sim great when the cpu is controlling, but if you’re controlling them, they lose in the playoffs in the worst way lol. What’s funny in this sim is that the Brewers won three world series in a row… until he stopped them from getting a fourth! And after not making the playoffs the next season, then he won a second… also against the Brewers lol. Funny because he’s a Brewers fan.

Kyla Scanlon has a new SHOW! That’s where she’s been off to! She’s doing an interview show with Vox, yay!

It’s a great interview btw with Kai Ryssdal, and how he became the host of Marketplace. Kinda nutty story, and yeah, he got absurdly lucky. I love what he said about you can learn more about the economy from a soybean farmer, or an apple farmer, or a barge company, rather than any politician, because those people will just tell you how it is if you ask them to explain it for you.

What’s really interesting is people are hanging onto their jobs more than ever. “Like it’s the last shopping cart at costco” a very interesting analogy

Cinzia had a great video about how designer fashion has invaded reading. Those Dior bags are absurd. Books have become status symbols for the it girl. It’s ridiculous. I think cinzia is adorable, but I get why she doesn’t want to deal with the bookish world anymore. Those events make her feel ugly and that makes me so sad. Reading has become so aestheticized to an extreme. But it’s not the only thing.

I LOVE this idea of the nomad library where your physical media library is right there at your local library. I hope buffalo will support this!

Using library loan systems to basically recreate netflix. That’s so cool.

Collect experiences, not stuff. Also Donruss Ken Griffey Jr. rookie cards because they are way too cheap and they should easily be worth a LOT more some day.
